MULTI-SWELL™ achieves a tight seal through its unique material design. After the flange bolts are torqued to the proper specifications, the MULTI-SWELL™ will experience some creep relaxation, which lowers the bolt load. Once media is introduced into the system, the gasketing material expands to generate the additional load needed to seal the flange connection, ensuring leak-free operation and fluid movement.
MULTI-SWELL™ is suited for many industrial applications, including compressor systems, pumps, ductile iron flanges, PVC and PE flanges, valve systems and hydrant connections. In addition, the MULTI-SWELL™ water gasket can be used for NSF-61 potable water or wastewater handling applications, and to seal flanges that might be used in stressful conditions, or where vegetable fiber gaskets have failed.
